20 teams are going to be participate in the upcoming tournament of Rugby World Cup 2019 which is starting from 20th September, 2019 in Japan. All the teams are divided in the four groups named as Pool A, Pool B, Pool C and Pool D. Every pool is consisting of 5 teams.
Defending champion and three times winner New Zealand and two times winner South Africa are in the same Pool B. One-time winner England is in Pool C and two times winner Australia is in Pool D. From every pool, top 2 teams will qualify for the quarter finals. A Round Robin format will be used for every pool, each team has to play against all other teams in the same pool.
Pool A: Ireland, Scotland, Japan, Russia, Samoa.
Pool B: New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Namibia, Canada.
Pool C: England, France, Argentina, USA, Tonga.
Pool D: Australia, Wales, Georgia, Fiji, Uruguay.
Host Japan, Ireland, France, Wales, Fiji, Scotland and Argentina are the teams which can surprised the favorite teams. The teams finished at 1st three positions in each pool will automatically qualify for the next Rugby World Cup 2023.
Each team will get 4 points for every match win in the pool, 2 points will be given for a draw match and 0 points for the defeat. A bonus point can also be awarded if a team scoring 4 tries in a match or lose the match by less than 8 points.
Pld = Number of games played; W = Number of games won; D = Number of games drawn; L = Number of games lost; TF = Number of tries scored (Tries For); PF = Total number of points scored by the team (Points For); PA = Total number of points scored against the team (Points Against); +/− = The difference, PF − PA; BP = Bonus pool points; Pts = Total number of pool points.
